Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

All students receive a full tuition waiver, health benefits, and a stipend of approximately $14,000 through a teaching assistantship, a Writer as Citizen position, a Poetry Center assistantship, or a Fairy Tale Review assistantship.

Other Features: 

This program hosts the Prose Reading Series for visiting writers as well as the student Works-in-Progress Reading Series. Other features include the University of Arizona Poetry Center, Confluence Center for Creative Inquiry, the Institute of the Environment, Medical Humanities Program, Convergences Departmental Theme Program, the English Graduate Union, INFUSE Visual Arts/Creative Writing Reading Series and Salon (student-hosted professional development seminars). The program welcomes cross-genre and cross-disciplinary work. Community literary arts providers include Intermezzo, POG and Casa Libre. The program also produces an annual Look Book featuring recent graduates' work for nearly one hundred editors and agents.
