The 28th annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers will be held from July 6 to July 12 at the Wallowa Lake Camp and Retreat Center in Wallowa Lake, Oregon. The program offers workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions, readings, and open mics. The theme for the 2015 conference is “Hidden From History: Stories We Haven’t Heard, Stories We Haven’t Told.” The faculty includes poets Sherwin Bitsui and Allison Hedge Coke; fiction writers Karen Fisher, Craig Lesley, Jan Vandenburgh, and Erika T. Wurth; and nonfiction writers Tom Kizzia, Page Lambert, and Robert Michael Pyle. The keynote speaker is nonfiction writer Timothy Egan. Tuition ranges from $220 for a weekend pass to $715 or $750 for a five-day workshop. Lodging is available at the Wallowa Lake Camp, and ranges from $100 per week for tent camping to $800 per week for a shared cabin. Registration is first come, first served.
