Stanley B. Trice

Author's Bio

Almost two dozen magazines have published my short stories and I am a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network, Carteret Writers, and a local critique group. I have also conducted interviews with editors from around the world for an online journal. I grew up on a dairy farm in Spotsylvania, VA and ended up living across the Rappahannock River in Stafford, VA. From there, I commuted by train to the Pentagon for years to work on defense budgets until escaping the long commute and DC politics. My wife and I moved to New Bern, NC. A place we had never been to before. I have been writing for most of my life. Between family, work, and college night courses, I became an expert at writing unpublishable books. However, I messed up recently and completed two publishable, edited novels. One is science fiction where a lonely, unemployed chemist has too much time on his hands. The other is short stories, some previously published, about life on a commuter train. I am currently searching for representation and may soon rely on my inexperience at self publishing. Currently, I am working on a third book about a high school teenager who inherits the formula for a special rocket fuel after his father dies. He finds that the janitor owns an Atlas rocket. When I am not writing, I volunteer at two non-profits. For one, I mostly write grants. The other I try to make people’s lives a little better.
