Author's Bio

I write the column, Poetry Matters, for Southern Writers Magazine, have given readings and workshops on poetry, and founded the Lonesome Mountain Pro(s)e Writers Workshop. I teach a course on Contemporary Women Poets for the UVA/OLLI program. My poems have appeared in Piedmont Virginia Magazine, the Blue Ridge Anthology, the 25th Anniversary Edition the Blue Ridge Parkway Celebration Book, and in the Charlottesville CAT buses.

Prizes:
My poem, Small Hotel by a Sea, won 2nd prize in the 2013 Brodie Herndon Memorial(Poetry Society of Va). My poem, Senjaray, Afghanistan won 3rd prize in the Virginia Writers Club 2011 Spring Shorts.
