Seth Brady Tucker

Author's Bio

Seth Brady Tucker (S. Brady Tucker)'s first book, “Mormon Boy,” won the 2011 Elixir Press Editor’s Prize, was published in 2012, and was a Finalist for the 2013 Colorado Book Award. Seth has been the Carol Houck Smith Scholar at Bread Loaf, and most recently served as the keynote speaker and instructor at the "Words Beyond Bars Poetry Project." He has won a number of writing awards including honorable mentions in the Jeff Sharlet Award from the Iowa Review, and in 2013 he won the Shenandoah Bevel Summers Fiction Prize and the Literal Latte Short Fiction Award. His poetry and fiction is forthcoming or has appeared in the Iowa Review, Shenandoah, Poetry Northwest, Chautauqua, Verse Daily, Indiana Review, North American Review, River Styx, Asheville Poetry Review, storySouth, Crab Orchard Review, and many other journals and anthologies. He is represented by Alex Glass at Trident Media Group, New York. Seth has degrees in English Literature and Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, Northern Arizona University (where he resurrected and worked as Poetry and Fiction Editor for Thin Air magazine), and Florida State University (PhD, 2012). Currently, Seth is writing a novel set on an Indian Reservation in Wyoming, and has finished writing a second poetry collection (which was recently a finalist for Philip Levine Award), and his first short fiction collection (which was also a finalist for the Flannery O'Connor Award). He teaches poetry and fiction workshops at the Light House Writer's Workshop in Denver, and lives and teaches near Boulder, Colorado. He is originally from Wyoming, and served as an Army 82nd Airborne paratrooper in the Persian Gulf.
