Roz Spafford

Author's Bio

Until recently Roz Spafford taught writing at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she also served as provost of College Eight. While at UCSC, she was a negotiator for the American Federation of Teachers and was active in local politics. For several years, she wrote a column on media and cultural criticism, titled "Meditations," as well as book reviews for newspapers throughout northern California. Her poems, short stories and excerpts from her novel "Telling Time," (in manuscript) have appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, as well as in broadside from Moving Parts Press. Ms. Spafford now spends most of the year in Canada, where she works as a free-lance writer. Her first book, "Requiem," was published in November, 2008 by Writers and Books in Rochester, New York.
