A third-generation New Englander, I was born in Boston City Hospital,
grew up in Roxbury, am an alumna of BLA/Girls' Latin School and the Graduate Program in English at Simmons College. My favorite band is Aerosmith; my favorite place is the Charles River; I can't drive, take the T. One hopes that my womanist writing dispels a lot of negative stereotypes about age/ race/class/gender, because bigotry is really outdated. After 15 years, I've completed an autobiographical pentology in three genres (Memoir/Poetry trilogy/Novella). I won't be insulted if you only want to read one. Volume 1 of the poetry was published in 2009. More info is on my blog, Making Poetry: www.mignonarielking(dot)wordpress(dot)com.
