Author's Bio

Lois P. Jones won the 2023 Alpine Poetry Fellowship. Her Highly Commended poem was published in the 2021 Bridport Poetry Prize anthology. In collaboration with filmmaker Jutta Pryor and sound designer Peter Verwimp, her poem La Scapigliata won the 2022 Lyra Bristol Poetry Film Ekphrastic Competition.  She was a winning finalist for the 2018 Terrain Poetry Contest judged by Jane Hirshfield. Other awards include the Lascaux Single Poem Prize, the Bristol Poetry Prize judged by Liz Berry and the Tiferet Poetry Prize. Jones has work published or forthcoming in Poetry Wales, Plume, Guernica Editions 2021, Vallentine Mitchell of London – 2022; Verse Daily, and Narrative. Jones’ first collection, “Night Ladder” was published by Glass Lyre Press and listed for the Julie Suk Award and the Lascaux Poetry Prize. Jones is the poetry editor of Kyoto Journal and a screening judge for the Kingsley-Tufts Award

Prizes won:
