Leslie McGrath

Author's Bio

My poetry is informed by my training in clinical psychology, as well as a background in Spanish language literature. I conduct literary interviews with female writers of color, regularly published in the Writer's Chronicle. I co-edited the posthumous poetry collection of Reetika Vazirani, Radha Says. I teach poetry and creative nonfiction at Central CT State University. I'm the series editor for The Tenth Gate, an imprint of The Word Works, which publishes a third book or beyond by a poet writing in English. Current interests: writing about interior geography, the history of mental illness, and supporting audacious writers. Forthcoming in 2014: "Out From the Pleiades: a novella in verse (Jaded Ibis Productions) and "By the Windpipe", a chapbook (ELJ Publications.) I think literary life is twofold: time spent in service to the craft and other writers, and time spent creating on the page. I strive for balance.
