Author's Bio

My poetry tends to focus on the lives of women and the marginalized, particularly the mentally ill. I teach poetry and creative nonfiction at Central CT State University and am the series editor for The Tenth Gate, an imprint of The Word Works, which publishes a third book or beyond by a poet at mid-career writing in English.
Current interests: writing about the interior geography of women, which includes rage along with sweetness and light.

I think literary life is twofold: time spent in service to the craft and other writers, and time spent creating on the page. I strive for balance.
