Lauren Camp

Author's Bio

The author of This Business of Wisdom (West End Press), Lauren is currently completing a second book of poems that explores the Jewish culture of Baghdad in the 1940s, and its effect on her upbringing. Her writing has been called “experimental,” and “mini-novels in poem form.” She frequently collaborates with musicians to create multimedia performances. Also a visual artist, Lauren is perhaps best known for her series of large-scale jazz portraits constructed of fabric and thread, which traveled to museums in ten cities. Lauren’s artwork is in cultural centers, hospitals, museums, U.S. embassies and other organizations around the world. A 10-year veteran of KSFR-FM, Santa Fe Public Radio, she produces and hosts “Audio Saucepan,” a mix of global music and poetry Sunday evenings 6-7PM MST. An in-demand writing teacher and mentor, she offers workshops through museums, Santa Fe Community College, and other venues.
