Author's Bio

I am a writer of prose -- both fiction and nonfiction -- with a background in freelancing as well as teaching composition and writing. A book of fiction that I've been working on in one form or another has earned both the Louisiana Division of the Arts Artist Fellowship award (2003) and the Pirate's Alley Faulkner Society Gold Medal for the Novella (2010); I am hoping it will help me to get an agent. My creative nonfiction has appeared in several journals, most recently Noladiaspora and the Journal of Southern Linguistics, and I am proud to say that I am the author of two books of general nonfiction.
