News:
My CIA, Katherine McCord's Creative Nonfiction memoir, written in lyric essay form, has just been published by Telling Our Stories Press. McCord is the daughter of a former CIA Officer. Because of this, she and her sister were born in Monrovia, Liberia, Africa, and lived in Katmandu, Nepal. McCord looks back, using the deep connection she has with her sister, through the lens of the present (--she is married and has two daughters--) to discover truths about who she is, who her father was, her mother, and what it means, for her, to live.
In RALPH Book Review, Sarah Lee Fox wrote, "Ms. McCord is a charming writer, and I was knocked out by my CIA, oops, I mean, MY CIA. There is a mix here of the normal and ordinary life, and the very exotic if now existentially threatening previous life . . . She's a stylist well capable of blending the banal and the scary." RALPH named her memoir, MY CIA, as one of the top ten of 2012.
