A group of writers gathered at the Barnes & Noble near Union Square in New York City on June 29, 2012, for the eleventh annual Intergenerational Reading. The event brings together teens and seniors from the city who have participated in writing workshops supported by Poets & Writers. Performance poet Regie Cabico served as emcee, providing efficient stage management and hilarious segues as more than thirty writers stepped up to the microphone to share their words. This powerful event, which provides both young and old a rare opportunity to speak directly to one another, is made possible through special support from the Abbey K. Starr Charitable Trust and has become a Poets & Writers tradition.
