Author's Bio

My memoir, GIRLS I NEVER MARRIED (Wind Ridge Books, 2014), is now available. Recent poetry includes KIN (WRB, 2013) features work inspired by encounters with Vermont wildlife and fueled by folklore. Lake Studies: Meditations on Lake Champlain(2011) and a companion audiobook on CD, The Inland Sea, offer imaginative work based on discoveries of archeologists and other scientists, first-hand experience, interviews with divers, history and native lore that reveal mysteries of what lies beneath the surface of the lake. Shipwrecks, ancient fish, myth and legend inform these poems. (See website to read and listen.) Other books: KISSING THE GROUND: New & Selected Poems (1999. My work has appeared in Poetry, New Letters, Prairie Schooner, The Iowa Review, American Poetry Review, North American Review, North Dakota Quarterly, South Dakota Review, Cutbank, The Cafe Review, Nimrod, The Southern Review, Pinch, and many other literary journals.
