The program offers partial funding. The program offers merit scholarships, diversity scholarships, and chair's scholarships. Teaching assistantships are also widely available.
The MFA program at California College of the Arts is part of an institution with over a hundred years of history. The program hosts a visiting writers series, student reading series, and a writing-in-residence program. Internships are available with Bay Area literary centers such as City Lights Publishers and 826 Valencia. The program is a long-standing sponsor of the Litquake Festival and the Bay Area Book Festival.
The priority application deadline is January 10. The application will open in August; those received after February 1 will be reviewed individually on a rolling basis.
