Black Lawrence Press seeks to publish intriguing books of literature: novels, short story collections, poetry, and translations (from the German and French). General submissions are open year-round. We also offer several contests per year.
Tips From the Editor
Black Lawrence is a selective press. Number of previous publications is unimportant; what matters is the quality of the work. Please send your best work. Please do not send manuscripts using UPS, Fed Ex, or DSL. Contest deadlines are postmark dates, so as long as the envelope of the manuscript is postmarked by the contest deadline, it is okay if the manuscript arrives after the deadline.
