Amy Butcher

Author's Bio

Amy Butcher is an essayist and the author of the forthcoming memoir Visitor #3, to be released by Blue Rider Press, an imprint of Penguin, in early 2015. Additional essays and short fiction have appeared in The Paris Review online, Tin House online, Salon, The Kenyon Review, The Rumpus, Gawker, The North American Review, The Indiana Review, Fourth Genre, Brevity, American Short Fiction, Vela and Hobart, among others, and is the author of the forthcoming memoir, Visitor #3, by Blue Rider Press, a Penguin imprint. She earned her MFA from the University of Iowa and is the recipient of scholarships and awards from the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, the University of Iowa, Word Riot Inc., the Stanley Foundation for International Research, the Academy of American Poets, and Colgate University's 2012-2013 Olive B. O'Connor Creative Writing Fellowship.
