Editorial Focus
Alice James Books is a nonprofit cooperative poetry press, founded in 1973. One of the few presses in the country run collectively, we are committed to publishing a diversity of poets, including both beginning and established poets, and a diversity of poetic styles.
Tips From the Editor
We have two annual manuscript contests: The Kinereth Gensler Awards, postmark deadline October 1st, notification of winners in late November/early December. The Beatrice Hawley Award, postmark deadline December 1st, notification of winners in mid-to-late March. We also accept submissions to the AJB Translation Series from September through March.
