I have an MFA in Writing from Pacific University in Oregon. I write fiction--flash, short and long.
Anca Szilagyi's fiction appears in Fairy Tale Review, Gastronomica, The Massachusetts Review, Washington City Paper, and elsewhere. Her nonfiction appears in Electric Literature, The Rumpus, and Jewish in Seattle. Her book reviews appear in Kirkus, Shenandoah, Los Angeles Review, and the Ploughshares blog. Born in Queens and raised in Brooklyn, she holds degrees from McGill University, Columbia University, and the University of Washington. Currently, she lives in Seattle, where she teaches creative writing at Richard Hugo House and is working on a collection of short stories and a novel.
My flash fiction has appeared in a number of online venues, often straddling the line between literary/mainstream and fantasy. One such story, "Gone," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2008. I'm currently at work on a mainstream novel.
