Michael Simms is the author of four collections of poetry, as well as the co-author of a poetry textbook. Simms is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Autumn House Press, a publisher of trade editions of poetry and fiction, and the Editor-in-Chief of Coal Hill Review, an online publisher of poetry. Simms teaches in the Chatham University MFA program and lives in the historic Mount Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh with his wife, Eva, and their children.

I am a widely published poet, and former poet laureate of Perry County.I currently reside in New Berlin, Pa, and am pursuing my MFA n Creative Writing, My BA in Creative Writing is from Bloomsburg, PA. I was born into a family of award winning authors/poets. I am the author of two books of poetry including Remember the Sun (Sunbury Press) and Waking the Muse (Outskirts Press). I am the also the proud mother of a 26 year old son who serves in the US Army.
A recipient of a Fellowship in Literature from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Simpson has published poems in "Prairie Schooner," "The Cortland Review," "Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review," "Passager," "Atlanta Review," "The Louisville Review," and "Margie," among other literary journals. Cinco Puntos Press, El Paso, Texas, published his essay "Line Breaks the Way I See Them" and four of his poems in "Beauty Is A Verb: The New Poetry of Disability," a 2012 ALA Notable Poetry Book called "unusual and powerful" by "Publisher's Weekly" in a starred review.
