I have been on the faculty of the University of Alaska, Anchorage's low-residency MFA program, specializing in literary memoir. I also teach for the Mountain Writers' Series in Portland, OR, and in the UK and Spain. Recently faculty for the Mendocino Coast Writers' Workshop.
Fiction Writer, Poet
Shaindel Beers’ poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. She is currently a professor of English at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon, in Eastern Oregon’s high desert and also serves as Poetry Editor of Contrary.

Kristin Berger is the author of the poetry collection How Light Reaches Us (Aldrich Press, 2016), and a poetry chapbook, For the Willing (Finishing Line Press, 2008). In 2011, she co-edited VoiceCatcher 6: Portland/Vancouver Area Women Writers and Artists with Toni Partington. Kristin is the recipient of writer residencies at The H.J. Andrews Forest, Starkey Experimental Forest and Range, and Playa, and her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and the Oregon Book Award. Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in the surrounding suburbs and Northern Michigan, she received her BA in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University. She lives with her family in Portland, Oregon.
