Creative Nonfiction Writer, Fiction Writer
Michael Downs, a Hartford native, is the author of The Greatest Show: Stories, inspired by the true story of the Hartford, Conn., circus fire. His first book, House of Good Hope: A Promise for a Broken City, was a finalist in memoir for the Connecticut Book Award. He lives with his wife and their two dogs in Baltimore, Maryland, and is an assistant professor of English at Towson University.
Jehanne Dubrow is the author of four poetry collections, including most recently Red Army Red and Stateside (Northwestern UP, 2012 and 2010). In 2015, University of New Mexico Press will publish her fifth book of poems, The Arranged Marriage. The daughter of American diplomats, Jehanne Dubrow was born in Italy and grew up in Yugoslavia, Zaire, Poland, Belgium, Austria, and the United States. She lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where she serves as the Director of the Rose O’Neill Literary House and is an Associate Professor in creative writing at Washington College, whereshe also edits the national literary journal, Cherry Tree.
