The recipient of grants from the Bunting Institute, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Fulbright Foundation, Sue Standing has published four collections of poems and teaches creative writing and African literature at Wheaton College (MA). She has collaborated with visual artists (Katherine Kadish and the Printmakers Network of Southern New England) and composers (David Froom and Louis Karchin). She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I have taught poetry to students of all ages for 4 decades. I was chosen as the first Poet Laureate of Brookline, MA to serve from April 2012-2014. Co-founder of Troubadour, Literacy through Writing and Song. I have 5 books of poetry including Writing My Will, Talking Stone Press, and 3 texts on teaching poetry.
