Enzo Silon Surin is a Haitian-born American poet, playwright, speaker and social advocate. He earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University and is currently Adjunct Faculty in English at Bunker Hill Community College. He is the author of the chapbook, HIGHER GROUND (Finishing Line Press, 2006), which was nominated for a Massachusetts Book Award. His poetry has appeared in numerous publications such as Tidal Basin Review, Reverie: Midwest African American Literature, The Caribbean Writer, Soundings East, among other literary journals. His work has won the David L. Osgood Poetry Prize, Boston Mayor's Poetry and Prose Competition and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Surin co-founded and serves as editor of The Bunker Hill Bridge: a Literary Journal of Bunker Hill Community College. He currently teaches in the PEN New England Prison Writing Program and curates the monthly coffeehouse series Lynn: City Unplugged in Lynn, MA, where he also heads the literacy initiative INKp.a.l.s, a project aimed at making poetry accessible to a wider audience.
