My new novel is And Laughter Fell from the Sky, "a stirring contemporary love story about two young Indian-Americans trying to find love and their place in the world, while dealing with the confines and pressures of their culture and their families." I am also the author of two novels for children: Aruna's Journeys and The Moon Over Crete. I've written three nonfiction books. Ela Bhatt: Uniting Women in India is a biography for young people, published in 2000 by the Feminist Press. Utopias in American History is a reference encyclopedia published in 2008 by ABC-CLIO. Poverty and Government in America will be out in 2009 from ABC-CLIO. I am especially interested in opportunities to teach writing to teens.
Alexandra Teague is the author of two books of poetry: The Wise and Foolish Builders (Persea, 2015) and Mortal Geography (Persea, 2010), winner of the 2009 Lexi Rudnitsky Prize and the 2010 California Book Award for Poetry. The recipient of a Stegner Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and the 2014 Missouri Review Editors’ Prize, Alexandra's poems have appeared in New England Review, Missouri Review, Threepenny Review, Best American Poetry, and many other publications. She is Assistant Professor of Poetry at University of Idaho and an editor for Broadsided Press.
