Alyse Knorr is the author of Annotated Glass (Furniture Press Books 2013) and Alternates (Dancing Girl Press 2014). Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Denver Quarterly, Drunken Boat, RHINO, Puerto Del Sol, The Minnesota Review, and The Southern Poetry Anthology, among others. She received her MFA from George Mason University. She is a co-founding editor of Gazing Grain Press and teaches college English at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Creative Nonfiction Writer, Poet
Carolyn Kremers writes literary nonfiction and poetry, and is a dedicated teacher. Her books include Place of the Pretend People: Gifts from a Yup'ik Eskimo Village (memoir, 1996/2011), The Alaska Reader: Voices from the North (anthology, 2005), and Upriver (poetry, 2013). Kremers' essays and poems have appeared on public radio and in numerous journals, magazines, & anthologies. Her piece, "John Haines and the Dream Place," was named a "Notable" essay in Best American Essays 2012. She designed and implemented the MFA program in literary nonfiction at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, and has taught at the University of Alaska in Bethel and Fairbanks. She has been a guest writer in Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, and Washington, and Artist-in-Residence at Gates of the Arctic National Park and Denali National Park. In 2008-09, she was a US Fulbright Scholar at Buryat State University in Ulan Ude, Russia. She lives in Fairbanks, Alaska.
