Bio: 

Judith Skillman is the author of twenty collections of poetry and a 'how to': Broken Lines--The Art & Craft of Poetry. Her most recent book is The Truth About Our American Births, Shanti Arts Press. Other books include Kafkas Shadow, House of Burnt Offerings, and The Phoenix: New & Selected Poems. She is the recipient of an Eric Mathieu King Fund Award from the Academy of American Poets, and an Artist Trust GAP grant for Came Home to Winter. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, Shenandoah, Prairie Schooner, Zyzzyva, We Refugees, and other journals and anthologies.
