Bio: 

Deborah Fleming is a novelist, poet, scholar, and essayist. Her collection of essays, Resurrection of the Wild: Meditations on Ohio's Natural Landscape (2019) won the PEN-America Diamonstein/Spielvogel Art of the Essay Award in 2020. Without Leave (2014), a novel of the Sixties, won the Asheville Award from Black Mountain Press. Her poetry collections include Earthrise (2021), Into a New Country (2016), and Morning, Winter Solstice (2012). She was professor of English at Ashland University from 1993 until 2022 and Editor/Director of the Ashland Poetry Press from 2007 until 2022. She lives on a farm in northeastern Ohio with her husband Clarke W. Owens (also a writer).
