Bio: 

CARLOS REYES is a noted poet and translator. Of his work Carolyn Kizer said: “Mr. Reyes is one of our local and national treasures. His poetry is as clear and strong as his social conscience. One is always struck by his sensual and sensory qualities… and his ability to capture a mood, a world, in a handful of lines.” Latest books of poetry: Osage Elegy (2022), The Ebbing Tide (2022), Lament for Us All (2022), Sea Smoke to Ashes (2020),Two People in the Night by a River (2019), Along the Flaggy Shore, Poems from West Clare (2018).Guilt in Our Pockets, Poems from South India (2017),Pomegrenate, Sister of the Heart (2012); translations: Poemas de amor y locura/ Poems of Love and Madness.Selected Translations (2013).  Author of a prose memoir: The Keys to the Cottage, Stories from the West of Ireland (2015). He is publisher of Trask House Books. Residencies: Poet-in-Residence, Joshua Tree National Park; Writer-in-Residence, Sitka Island Institute, Alaska, Acadia National Park, and most recently, Catacotin Mountain Park, NP (2018). Reyes lives in Portland but travels often to Ireland, Spain and Ecuador.
