Bio: 

Constance Studer worked as a registered nurse many years, primarily in ICU-CCU and as a hospital supervisor. She received a diploma from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, earned a BA in English Literature from Illinois College, Jacksonville, Illinois and a MA in English Literature/Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After retiring from nursing due to disability, she has devoted her time to reading and writing. She lived in the Netherlands for four years and has published translations of Dutch poetry. She has published two books: Prayer to a Purple God, Mellen Poetry Press, 1996, 2004, and Body Language: First Of All Do No Harm, (creative nonfiction) Purdue University Press, 2009. Her collection of short stories, Queen of the Sugarhouse, will be released June 1, 2021 by Atmosphere Press.
