Bio:

Although I began life in 1935 with a poet's name, Sarah Elizabeth Brown, I did not find my voice until I was nearly forty. Under the name Sarah Brown Weitzman, I have had more than four hundred poems published in journals and anthologies such as New Ohio Review, North American Review, Rattle, Verse Daily, Mid-American Review, Poet Lore, Potomac Review, Miramar, Spillway, America  and elsewhere.   For personal reasons, I dropped out of "Po-biz" for fifteen years [1984 to 1999I and did not submit a single poem for publication during those years.  I am a past National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in Poetry.  I was nominated for a second time for the Pushcart Poetry Prize in 2019.  I am still writing, publishing and lecturing on contemporary poetry.   My latest (5th) book, AMOROTICA,  was published in 2021 by Main Street Rag.
