Bio:

I moved to the west coast from the east coast where I had been a poet in the schools in PA, DE, NJ, and CA. Previously, I taught in Lesley University’s Creative Arts in Learning Program (I taught Storytelling, Poetry, and Final Project.).

I now teach at California State University at Channel Islands. Along with teaching Poetry Workshop, I work with preservice teachers with whom I do a lot of poetry writing and reading in hopes that they will bring new audiences to poetry in the future.

Because of living with vertigo, I have recently begun to write poems about this and give workshops and readings.

I enjoy working with people of all ages who want to tell their stories in a supportive atmosphere. I use clay, paint, and other nonverbal means --called storymaking--in my workshops.

How to Disappear, my new poetry manuscript was recently a finalist in the Crab Orchard Review Poetry Series Competition, and a semi-finalist in Trio House Press competition.  How to Disappear was published by Blue Light Press,

2019.Finishing Line Press published my chapbook (2012), Uncertain Earth, and Bright Hill Press published My Father & Miro. I have attended poetry residencies at Squaw Valley Community for Writers, and Napa Community of Writers, and received two literary fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
