Spring Writes Literary Festival, May 5 to 22 (Ithaca NY & Zoom) [1]
The Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County (CAP) is thrilled to announce the 17th annual Spring Writes Literary Festival—a lively celebration of the literary arts!
Over 100 writers are participating in twenty-three live events in downtown Ithaca from May 7 - 11, seven Zoom events from May 15 - 22, and nine additional writing workshops continuing through September. Live events are at Buffalo Street Books, the Tompkins County Public Library and the new Downtown Ithaca Conference Center.
Visit SpringWrites.org and you’ll see the full schedule, artist bios and registration (required) links.
You’ll see multiple group readings of poetry, prose, and memoir, panels on writing craft and timely topics, creative writing workshops for all ages and experience levels, performances by a local theatre troupe and senior storytellers, a vibrant Book & Zine Fair, and unique events like a lyric-writing session, a filmmaker’s panel, fantasy & sci-fi for teens, and children’s poetry workshop. (It’s a great line-up!)
We thank business sponsors: Ithaca College, CFCU Community Credit Union, M&T Bank, the Odyssey Bookstore, Wegmans, and the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center. Media sponsors are WSKG radio, The Route WITH radio, and Cinemapolis. Additional support is provided by the Tompkins County Tourism Program and Poets & Writers. This support underscores our festival's role in enriching our community's cultural landscape and the importance of the arts in connecting us all.
