Bio: 

Jeremy is the poet laureate of Parma, Ohio ('22-'23). He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Arcadia University and a BS in chemistry & BA in theatre from Marietta College. He has authored more than a half-dozen plays and three poetry collections: We Grow Tomatoes in Tiny Towns (Unsolicited Press, 2019), The Less-Traveled Street (Maverick Duck Press, 2022), and The Details Will Be Gone Soon (ELJ Publications, 2023). His poetry and short stories have appeared in numerous anthologies, literary magazines, and other publications. Jeremy created and hosts the Ohio Poetry Association's podcast Poetry Spotlight, a program which interviews notable poets from the state of Ohio that has included writers like Manuel Iris, Kari Gunter-Seymour, John Burroughs, and Hanif Abdurraqib. He started the West Side Poetry Workshop in 2015 and edits their annual anthology. In 2021, he founded the Flamingo Writers’ Guild, which provides readings, workshops, social events, the micropress Rusty McRustBeltFace, and other literary resources to promote and publish writers in Parma. He also started the Jusek Writing Fellowship at Marietta College, which mentors undergraduate playwrights and poets.

Prizes won: 

The play Garment Baggage won a Willard for best script in NPIOD playwriting festival (2019) and was shortlisted for the V International Playwriting Contest (2020). Won the Emerson Prize for short poem collection (2010).
