Lynne Jensen Lampe was born in Newfoundland and raised in Wisconsin and Louisiana. Themes of conformity, sanity, gender, and faith often find their way into her work, including her debut collection, Talk Smack to a Hurricane (Ice Floe Press, 2022). Lynne’s poems appear in many journals, including THRUSH, Figure 1, Yemassee, The American Journal of Poetry, and One. She was a finalist for the 2020 Red Wheelbarrow Poetry Prize. She studied poetry in a graduate workshop with Larry Levis; at the Port Townsend Writers Conference with Richard Kenney; through The Speakeasy Project with Rosebud ben Oni, Angel Nafis, torrin a. greathouse, and Raina J. León; and in workshops and classes taught by poet-teachers including Ed Skoog and Amie Whittemore. Lynne earned a BJ (journalism) and MEd at the University of Missouri; she has worked as a receptionist, activist, teacher, graphic designer, newsroom copyeditor, and once, audiobook narrator. For the last 15 years she has edited academic books and journals. Lynne lives with her husband and two dogs in Columbia, Missouri.
