Bio:

Nicole Jean Turner is a hand-patched, sticker-smattered, lace-torn layered writer from New England. Turner writes in cursive to hide the butchered spelling that might otherwise raise suspicion regarding her master's degree in writing. Find yourself between their lines on Poetry-Journal.com

Turner first emerged from the spoken word poetry community of Syracuse, New York, in 2012 performing under the stage name Nic Jean. They then spent the next decade among the regulars of the legendary Dirty Gerund Poetry Show and still serves as the venue's slam team ringleader, multiple years running.

Turner has strung literary heartstrings from the Pacific Northwest to New England, connecting stages, pages, and workshop spaces with a devoted community of subversive writers and artists. Vulnerability is their medium, resilience their aesthetic; Turner's writing employs minimalist traditions in a post-confessional mode, intersecting fragmented structures and symbolic imagery to navigate themes of trauma, identity, and a rebellion that’s not loud or adolescent but insistent for contemporary survival.
