The Phare [1]
Phare, an old English word for lighthouse or beacon to guide seafarers, is a UK-based literary magazine which, true to its name, “shines a light on exceptional writing from around the world.” They like reading words that hold a mirror up to themselves—something that reflects the truth of being human.
We accept submissions of short stories, flash fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction. Our Flash Dash Prize opens ad hoc throughout the year with prizes of £150 and £50 for winner and runner-up see website for details.
