Bio: 

The Washington Post describes Noa Baum as someone who "spreads cultural truths that eclipse geopolitical boundaries...".    Noa is an internationally acclaimed storyteller, author, and educator. She offers a unique combination of performance art and practical workshops that focus on the power of narrative to heal across the divides of identity and build bridges of understanding and compassion. 
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Noa trained in theatre at Tel-Aviv University, studied acting with Uta Hagen and received an MA in Educational Theater from NYU. Since 1982, she’s been presenting internationally. Highlights include: The World Bank; The Kennedy Center; US Department of Defense; AARP; US FDA; The Smithsonian Institute; The Mayo Clinic for Humanities in Medicine; The National Storytelling Festival, TN; Limmud Conferences (UK; Turkey; NY, GA, NOLA, Philly); The Jewish Museum of NYC; Stanford University; University of Alabama; Timpanogos Storytelling Conference; Jewish Theological Seminary, NYC; Fabula Storytelling Festival, Sweden; Brandeis University; The Hebrew University, Jerusalem; as well as hundreds of schools and congregations.  Noa's audio recordings have won Parents’ Choice Recommended and Storytelling World awards. Her memoir is a winner of the Anne Izard Storytellers' Choice Award, the LDS Publishing Professionals Association Award and a Storytelling World Award; Her new picture book How the Birds Became Friends (age 3-8) was published in 2021. She’s a recipient of numerous Individual Artist Awards from The Maryland State Arts Council and The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County. Noa is a member of the National Storytelling Network. She lives in the Washington DC metro area and was voted by The Washington Jewish Week as one of 10 most interesting local Jews.
