Steven M. Smith is the author of the poetry collection Strongman Contest (Kelsay Books, 2021).  His poems have appeared in publications such as RATTLE, The Worcester Review, The American Journal of Poetry, Mudfish, Offcourse, Better Than Starbucks, Poetrybay, Ibbetson Street Press, Hole in the Head Review, The Meadow, The Writing Disorder, The River, and Plainsongs.

He taught first-year writing as well as reading and study skills for many years at the State University of New York at Oswego, where he retired as director of the Writing Center.  He lives in Liverpool, New York.
