Bio: 

Beatrice J. Krauss is a retired professor of public health at the City University of New York School of Public Health and Health Policy and is currently a Designated Campus Colleague in the Psychology Department at University of Arizona. HIV prevention was her area of specialty. She has played harp regularly at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ, as well as with symphonies and ensembles in various states. She has attended poetry workshops led by Kristi Maxwell and Rebecca Seiferle at the Poetry Center, University of Arizona; Billy Collins at New York’s 92nd Street Y; Zach Hively at Casa Urraca; and the late Ruth Lisa Schechter in Croton, NY. She was tutored informally and generously by the late Douglas Oliver, a former co-worker at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, before he taught poetry at the Sorbonne. Dr. Krauss has published in Blue Unicorn. Riverrun and Small Pond magazines; her book Strong Medicine was published in 2021 by Casa Urraca Press where she has also led workshops.
