AV Rasmussen lives in Columbus, Mississippi. They have a doctorate in Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas, where their studies focused on American poetry and drama, popular culture, gender studies, and queer studies. They are particularly interested in how literature and media represent intersectional identities and what those representations say about the culture that produces them. They are an avid backpacker and photographer. Their poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including: Veils, Halos, and Shackles and Impossible Archetype. Their plays have been published and performed throughout the United States.
