Bio:

Since leaving school in the 1970s, I've been out of step with almost everything in America, except for Howard Dean's candidacy and the promise of Barack Obama's presidency.

Recently, my poem The Muse Leaps Generations, was added to the Emma Lazarus archive by the American Jewish Historical Society; and my poem, Buoys and Gales, was used by the H.Lee White Maritime Museum in Oswego, NY on a poster to promote an exhibit of lighthouse photography.

The above photo shows me taking the waters on Monument Mountain in the Berkshires, at the place where Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne met in 1850. My poem, Paean to an Eminence, about the place made famous by Wm. Cullen Bryant, was published in the 2008 anthology Views of Monument Mountain. The video below is from an event in Cambridge for the publication of an anthology of poems that honor Donald Hall, whose friendship and correspondence I enjoyed for several years.
