Bio: 

Janice Northerns, who grew up on a farm in rural West Texas, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Tech University. After teaching college and high school English for many years, she recently retired and now enjoys writing full-time.  Her first full-length poetry collection, Some Electric Hum is forthcoming in August from Lamar University Literary Press. Her awards include a Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts residency, a Sewanee Writers’ Conference scholarship, and the Robert S. Newton Creative Writing Award from Texas Tech University. She and her husband currently live in southwest Kansas.
