Bio: 

Elisa Wouk Almino is a writer, editor, and literary translator from Portuguese. She is the editor in chief of Image, the style and culture magazine at the Los Angeles Times. She was formerly a senior editor at Hyperallergic, the book reviews editor at Words Without Borders, and an editor of Harlequin creature's online translation platform. Her writing and translations have appeared in Guernica, Paris Review Daily, NYR Daily, The Millions, The Nation, Hyperallergic, and the Los Angeles Times, among other places. She is the translator of This House by Ana Martins Marques (Scrambler Books, 2017), and the editor of Alice Trumbull Mason: Pioneer of American Abstraction (Rizzoli, 2020) and Emily Mason: Unknown to Possibility (Rizzoli, 2025). In the past, she's taught translation and art writing classes with Catapult and UCLA Extension.
