Bio: 

Anca Cristofovici is a transcultural author whose work bridges her European and American experience. She published work in English, French, and Romanian. Her fiction, poetry, contributions to art catalogues, and translations have appeared in the United States and in Europe. Her novel, STELA, published by Ninebark Press, was launched at the AWP in Minneapolis in 2015, and subsequently featured at the AWP Conferences in Los Angeles (2016) and Washington, D.C. (2017). She has been invited to read work at numerous venues in the United States (Utah Book Festival, Salt Lake City; Evergreen College, Olympia; Hugo House, Seattle; Woodland Pattern Book Center, Milwaukee; Fashion Institute and A.I.R. gallery, New York, among others), and in Europe (Berkeley Books in Paris, Poetry International Festival-Southbank, London, etc.). Cristofovici was laureate of Villa Mont Noir-the Marguerite Yourcenar Foundation for European Writers, France, and the Rowohlt Foundation, Switzerland. She is currently a professor of American Literature & Arts at the University of Caen, in France, and has been associated for teaching or research appointments with Duke University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaulkee, and University of Washington, Seattle. For her non-fiction work, Cristofovici has been awarded grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, Terra Foundation of American Art, The British Academy.
