Bio:

I am a retired NYC teacher, activist, and the author of Now in Contest (Fernwood Press, 2023), Selected Poems (Future Cycle Press, 2019), Contiguous States (Finishing Line Press, 2018), as well as five chaphbooks: The Cadence of Mercy, A Tide of a Hundred Mountains, That Country’s Soul, A Language Full of Wars and Songs, and Snapshots from a Battle.  My work is archived in the "The Imaginative Representations of the Vietnam War Collection," Connelly Library, LaSalle University.  In addition, I served as co-editor of BigCityLit.com, and remain an Advisory Editor.  I received the 2021 Connecticut Poetry Society Award, and was co-editor of the stack-anthology "Invasion of Ukraine: 2022.  I've written "Poetry in a Pandemic" and "The Spoils of War" for American Book Review.

My three most recent books are full-length poetry books, so I find it ironic that as I’m growing short of breath I’m being given the opportunity to be longer-winded.  Website: richardlevine107.com.  Check my two political music videos on YouTube: “Judge Roberts: One Man, One Woman One Vote” and “The Talkin’ Frackin’ Blues”.
