Bio: 

Nicholas Klacsanzky is primarily a haiku and tanka poet, who occasionally writes verse poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. He is a content coordinator by profession. He has won several awards for his poetry, including the Touchstone Award for Individual Poems by the Haiku Foundation in 2016. Nicholas wants to carry on the tradition of his father, George Klacsanzky, by promoting haiku further with his blog Haiku Commentary. He lives currently in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Gene Murtha Senryu Contest in 2018, 2nd in Mandy’s Pages Tanka Time in 2018, 3rd in the International Kusamakura Haiku Competition in 2018, 3rd in the Mad About Cherita Contest in 2018, had an honorable mention for the Porad Haiku Award in 2017, an honorable mention in A Little Iris Haiku Contest in 2018, a commendation for the IAFOR Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award in 2017, a merit award in the Montenegrin Haiku Contest in 2017, was a runner-up for the Reader’s Choice Award for Shamrock journal in 2017, and has won awards in several competitions on Haiku Column and My Haiku Pond online. In addition, he was conferred with a certificate for being one of the top 100 haiku poets in Europe in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019 by Haiku Euro Top, curated by Krzysztof Kokot.
