Bio: 

Dinah Berland has a background in art and formerly worked as senior editor for Getty Publications. Her poems have appeared in more than two dozen literary journals, including The Antioch Review, The Iowa Review, New Letters, Ploughshares, and One, and have been widely anthologized. Her first chapbook, Fugue for a New Life (2020), was the winner of the 2019 WaterSedge Poetry Chapbook Contest. Her second chapbook, Hotel at the End of the World, is forthcoming in the New Women's Voices Series from Finishing Line Press. She is also the editor of Hours of Devotion: Fanny Neuda’s Book of Prayers for Jewish Women (Schocken, 2007), a verse adaptation of the first Jewish prayer book by a woman for women. She received her MFA in creative writing from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and an Individual Artist's Fellowship in Poetry from the California Arts Council. In spring 2017 she was Writer in Residence at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, where she launched a poetry workshop, now called the Poetry Oasis, which she continues to lead from her home in Los Angeles.
