Bio: 

Born in Chicago in 1953, Jim Hanson grew up in Barrington, Illinois and received a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. After a career in manufacturing accounting and systems implementation, he returned to his great-grandparents’ farm near Douglas, Michigan where he writes, draws, paints, translates, conducts genealogical research, and designs websites, among other things. Books are "Reasons for the Sky" (Toothpaste Press, 1979), "Three Numbers" (with Steve Levine, Toothpaste Press, 1976), "Luminism" (2016), "About Florence" (2018), his translation of Stéphane Mallarmé's "Poems and Prose Poems: with 'The book, spiritual instrument" and "A throw of the dice. . .'" (2016), and his translation of Guy St-Hilaire's genealogical research study "The first Audet dit Lapointes in America" (ADNAL, 2015).
