Bio: 

Joan Alice Wood Kimball, retired librarian of Concord, Massachusetts, studied creative writing at Smith College and St. Louis University. She has published two poetry chapbooks about an island in the St. Lawrence River: This River Hill (2009) and Summer River (2013), and published a poetry collection: Early Light (Kelsay Books, 2019). A founder of the Concord Poetry Center, she is also a member of three poetry study groups, Powow River Poets of Newburyport, Mass. and two groups in Massachusetts that she runs: the Wayland Poetry Workshop and the Concord Poetry Workshop. Her limerick, "Cold October," is inscribed on a granite wall in Edmands Park, Newton, Mass.
