Bio:

I am an emeritus professor, returning to an earlier love – nonfiction writing. While an academic, I published over 150 papers, including two award winning journal articles, a research monograph that accelerated apartheid’s demise in South Africa, and several op-ed pieces that redirected America’s foreign policy toward South Africa. Recently, my literary nonfiction has appeared in Matter, Pilgrimage, The Superstition Review, Weber: The Contemporary West, Ars Medica, and Memoir. One essay won the Northern Colorado Writer’s 2011 nonfiction contest. I live in Colorado and Arizona, where I write of wild places and of our globally common humanity.
